BO Mobile with load balancer url

HI experts,

Need your inputs to configure LB url for the BO Mobile.

Currently we are in BI4.0 SP6 and we have Mobile reports are there in the environment.

We have two servers are in cluster which are having tomcats.

  1. 1) 10.98.47.155
  2. 2) 10.98.47.156

Where both the servers are working fine in Launchpad and BO Mobile individually in the intranet .

Now we are trying to have Load Balancer (F5) url (https:// sapbo.XYZ.com) on the below urls

  1. 1) http:// 10.98.47.155:8080
  2. 2) http:// 10.98.47.156:8080

we would like to enable the https:// sapbo.XYZ.com on the public domain to access the reports in internet via Launchpad and mobile.

What are all the configurations needs to be on the mobile side to access the reports through mobile devices in the internet.

Could you please share you thoughts?

I dont think much is required from the mobile part

the device is a dummy device.

all processing will be done on the application server only

so once the https is configured for the load balancer, by your LB team

then you can test the behaviour on the safari browser or from launchpad

if it is opening up the tomcat page, we should be good to go

also, then try to put the same url in device and check the behaviour

check if firewall settings are done correct and there is no issue

from a client machine, try to access the load balancer url and test the issue, if login is possible

if that works, mobile should work as well.

there are security guides avaialble at help.sap.com

Hi Atul,

we have defined CMS cluster name as @BI-PRD . In that case how we can update this Mobile devices.

Shall we use the same name as CMS name in the mobile device?

Please guide us.

HI JRK,

i think,, it takes the clustername as it is.. However do you the port number  ( For ex: @XXX:6400)

but if not, you can give anyone CMS name to it.

it wont make much difference

Thanks Atul,

Do i need to enable firewall to access CMS PORTS frompublic domains?

yes

it is always a good idea to do so.

bidirectional access should be done.

also mention a request port under CMS server properties, and open 6400 and the request port on the firewall

once done, using safari browser on the device, try to access the launchpad url and login.

if it works, it wil work for the SAP BI mobile app as well
