Hi,

The Crystal Reports 2008 allows developers to integrate reporting into windows desktop and client-server applications.

So far, has followed the evolution of Microsoft operating systems until to Windows 2008.

What are the prospects for the evolution of Crystal Reports 2008 according the Microsoft operating system superior to Windows 2008?

Crystal Reports 2008 will follow this evolution?

This is quite important to outline the future of applications with Crystal Reports!

CR 2008 is the oldest version still available. The patches for it will become further apart and therefore support for newer versions of Windows OS will take more time to be released. Typically new OS's are added to full Service Packs only.

To stay current and relatively up to date move to CR 2011 or 2013.

The is very little differences between all 3 versions, other than updated platform support.

Don't know why is this required, but, the two are in good sync and history has proven this already.

Every new release of Crystal Reports, provides support to the latest Microsoft Windows OS and the run-times for Visual Studio IDE are also immediately available.

Hi Perfeito,

I would say the evolution of Microsoft's Operating Systems has had nothing to do with the evolution of CR per se. With each new Minor Release (or Service Pack), support for new OSs are added.

Please have a look at this blog for more info on CR's future.
