Important Tenant Management Changes in r1308

Some exciting enhancements were introduced with r1308 to improve tenant management.  This important information is detailed in the R1308 Tenant Landscape presentation (Business Center access is required).  All Cloud consultants, sales and pre-sales roles must review the presentation in order to understand:

  • How many tenants can exist in a customer's landscape based on the subscription(s) purchased
  • New processes for requesting new tenants
  • New process for requesting the termination/decommissioning of a tenant
  • A new capability to copy a solution profile from existing tenant A to existing tenant B
  • New best practices for tenant landscape during implementations and after go-live

All SAP Cloud Professional Services and Service Center personnel received invitations to New Tenant Landscape sessions October 10-12, during which this information will be presented.  SAP is in the process of updating the relevant service delivery kit workshops with the new details that are included in this presentation.  In the meantime, consultants should substitute tenant landscape slides in your project kickoff and other workshops with slides from this new presentation.

Please post any questions regarding this presentation in the community so that others may benefit from the knowledge shared.

Now we are in 1502. is there any updated landscape document we have ?

or still same like 1308.

I have gone through the presentation deck it describes with 3 options.

but none of them clearly says when we are getting production tenant from test tenant whether custom solutions will be copied to production or not. if they copied what profiled would have been selected.

if not copied do we have to do them upload manually into production ?

right now we are in situation we got production tenant 1502. but we did not get custom solutions created in dev to production.

Thanks,

Mahesh

The presentation that you accessed is version 20140731.  This is the latest; there is no change in the landscape since then.  Did you access the discussion thread referenced in slide 28?  This contains specifics for SDK customizations.  It states, "During the tenant provisioning scenarios, business configuration may be copied, but data and customer-specific solutions may not. "  The presentation goes on to point out that any customer-specific solutions must be uploaded and activated in the production tenant.
