Hi Friends,
Our client wants to manage in SAP the long trem loan taken, currently we are using SAP FI/CO modules and within this i cannnot find any such functionality where this can be mapped. I was wondering if this can be done with treasury module.
Could you please advise how to map this in SAP.
Appreciate your inputs.
thanks & regards
Hi there
Normally all loans short/medium/long-term can be mapped in Treaury and Risk Management. Standard loans such as fixed or floating term can be mapped in Money Market Instruments in standard product types. If you have bonds issued and only in this case you will have to use the securities module. You can there treat also amortized costs etc.
The loans module for a corporate customer is not any help. You would only use this in the case of mortgages.

Hi there
You can manage the long term loans in treasury and risk management. You have this in the banking environment and also in the corporate area.
If you need the module for mortgage loans then you should use CML which is part of the banking solution.

Hi again
If you are an industrial corporate you do not need the loans module. All the transactions fit very well in treasury and risk management. Beside this in treasury you also can manage fx, derivatives and securities. In loans management this is not possible.
Normally loans management is only used by insurances and banks. That is why you find it in the banking environment. Some messages above might be confusing.

Hi,
loans management module is also used by a lot of corporates.
It depends on what you want to do.
If you want to do open item management with FI customers including residual items, IOA calculation etc. it might be a reason to use loans management.
It surely depends on processes and requirements.
Kind regards
Michael
Indeed. We implemented the full cycle of Loans Taken from Creating contract (FN1V) -->Disbursements (FNVD)--> Making postings (FNM1S) and paying out the customer.(F110 or F111).

Hi
Here is the detailed answer.
Loans can be managed by using:
1) Securitieis in Transaction Manager, which is under FSCM--> Teasury and Risk Management.
2) Loans Management under SAP BANKING. SAP has standard loan product types configured. You can activate them and assign them to your company codes.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks
Mahesh

Hi,
Loans can be managed in SAP under:
a) FSCM - Treasury & Risk Management - In general we will use product type Interest Rate Instrument OR
b) as mentioned by Mahesh above under - SAP Banking - Loans Management
We would need to activate additional busincess components. Note this might lead to additional licencing fees as they are treated as separate modules. In fact we need to do end to end configuration for any of these modules.

Hi
There is a Loans Management module under IMG under SAP BANKING menu. You can use product type 031 for loans received.
Thanks
