Not able to install business objects client

Hi,

I am trying to install business objects client on windows7 64 bit operating, but i am unable to do so.

The error which i am getting is Runtime Error!

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

It seems you are installing 4.0 Sp02 client tools.

You can install it on windows 7 64 bit, and its supported.

You can check if anyother applications are stopping this from install..

please uninstal whatever is installed now, and then install it freshly.

Please follow the steps to uninstall it completely from the machine.

1) Go to "Control Pannel"

2) Under Program and Features uninstall

3) Select "SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 SP2" and  uninstall

4) Once completed Remove the "BusinessObjects" directory structure from file system

5) Remove BusinessObjects folder from registry

      a) regedit

      b) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->Software

      c) Right click on "SAP BusinessObjects" and delete

      d) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->Software-->Wow6432Node

      e) Right click on "SAP BusinessObjects" and delete

Also there might be issues while uninstalling because,

The following manifest files were not created successfully during the installation:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\WorkingManifest.sqlite
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\InstallManifest.sqlite

  to unsinstall you can:-

1. Backup the manifest files (InstallManifest.sqlite and WorkingManifest.sqlite) located in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\ 
2. Copy the working manifest files to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\ 
3. Start the uninstallation again.

BOXI 3.1 or BO 4.0?

Hi Rajiv,

Windows 7 is a client Operating System not a server.

If you are installing BI4 client tools than it's ok.

But if you are trying to install BI4 server, then you need to use win2003 or win2008 server and they have to be 64 bits version.
