  1. There is no shortcut added to the Windows -> Start -> Programs folder to start the Visual Admin Tool ('Admin Tool' for short) in this manner.

    First, locate the "go.bat" command file that is used to start the Admin Tool. The command file is located at C:\usr\sap\<instance_id>\JC00\j2ee\admin.

    For instance, the default instance ID is "J2E" so the path to the "go.bat" file would be: C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin.

  2. Locate your Windows -> Start- Programs folder. For instance: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs, C:\Documents and Settings\<your_user_id>\Start Menu\Programs.

  3. Create a folder in the "Program" folder for the SAP J2EE Engine. For instance, SAP J2EE Engine 6.40.

  4. Right-click on the "go.bat" file and select "Copy".

  5. Go into the "SAP J2EE Engine" folder created in step 3. Right-click and select "Paste Shortcut".

  6. Rename the shortcut to something descriptive like: "Visual Admin Tool".

  7. You can now start the Admin Tool from the Start menu.
