Uses Customization

These tags can be passed as parameters to an ASP file or directly used within an ASP file as long as the file is executed via the portal server (As in an iView) Example if you wanted to retrieve or display customized information based on the user logged in, you could assign a variable in vbscript

Name="<DBUSER>"

Response.write(Name)

Avoid hard-coding path URLS

When creating custom iViews, if you need to point to a specific file residing under PORTAL\COMMON folder, you could put <DBHOST PROTOCOL WEB WEB_SERVER_FOLDER COMMON>/myapp/myapp.asp. This way you avoid hardcoding paths and its simple to import and use the iView.
