SIM201 Next Generation SSO for SAP Applications with SAML 2.0

SAML 2.0 is a security protocol that enables the exchange of user identity information across and within enterprise domains. The deployment of SAML 2.0 in enterprise applications draws parallels to SSO in regards to user productivity enhancements; however, it also holds potential for streamlining utilization of identity management infrastructures and addressing user data privacy issues, associated with user work in separate identity domains. This session takes a closer look at the capabilities of the SAML 2.0 technology in regards to user authentication, enabling enterprise SSO, and identity federation in SAP applications. The session will also feature an overview of the SAML 2.0 capabilities and configuration approach, as planned for support with SAP NetWeaver 7.2.
