SAP Enterprise Portal - Business Package Certification (EP-BP)

In Enterprise Portal 6.0 the certification scenario for portlet integration was extended beyond the testing of the individual iViews to include criteria for the whole business package. The certification now also verifies the structure and the deployment of a Business Package developed by an Independent Software Vendor - ISV.

A Business Package can contain

  • Roles - authorizations that can be assigned to users and groups
  • Worksets - visual entities that can contain other worksets or pages
  • Pages - containers for iViews
  • iViews - UI components that integrate 3rd-party products to SAP EP

iView

  • Are an SAP proprietary technology that is analogous to a portlet
  • Can be developed using different development platforms including Java and MS .NET platforms - where SAP provides tools support
