What Is Quantity Contracts Business option Mean and how to enable this business option in the system?

The Quantity Contracts business option allows your company to create and supplement a service contract. This business option allows you to administer contract determination for defined products which should  be restricted to a specific target quantity. By selecting this option, the customer can release products in the system from a work ticket and keep track of the contract targets and fulfillment's that have been performed.

In addition, you can establish a rule to allow the release of products in contracts that either exceed the target quantity (without limits) or exceed the target quantity for the first time.


To access the option navigate to the Business Configuration work center-->Edit project scoping -->Navigate to the questions view-->choose service Entitlement Management -->sub view Service Contract Management.

When you choose this option the required quantity contract fields and parameters are activated in your system.

Maintain contract document types:

To maintain the contracts, navigate to the business configuration Implementation Projects  Open Activity List  Fine-Tune  Contracts  Maintain Document Types and update the configuration setting as desired.

The solution comes with pre-delivered document types, but an Administrator can define types for your business. When creating your documents types, use the prefix Z and the desired combination of letters and or numbers. In addition, you can define the line item increments

Note:-The external data flag must set for data exchange with external applications such as SAP ERP.

Define contract item types:

Business Configuration  Implementation Projects  Open Activity List   Fine-Tune  Contracts  Maintain Item Types and update the configuration setting as desired.

In system the following determination relevance rules are available:

  • Limited to Entitled Services and Parts: This contract item will be determined if at least one of the listed entitled services and parts is used in the ticket item. For example, entitled services and parts filter X, Repair Service Y assigned to Entitlement Product 5 years support.
  • Items and Entitled Services and Parts: This contract item will be determined if this line item (product) or one of its assigned entitled services and parts are used in the ticket item. For example, filter X or identical filter X*.

Limited to item : This contract item will be determined only if this line item (product) is used in the ticket item. For example, filter Z with a 50 each quantity limit.
