You are working as administrator in SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer where you are facing issues in Data Workbench work center


Data Workbench

Data Workbench is a tool used to import and export data into/from SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer. You can import the following:

  • Data from a legacy system into Cloud for Customer. For example, you want to transfer all the existing data from any Cloud CRM system to SAP Cloud for Customer.
  • Operational data from third-party systems into Cloud for Customer. For example, import accounts and contacts from Microsoft Outlook to Cloud for Customer.
  • Data that is manually maintained in a CSV file format into Cloud for Customer. For example, the sales leads data collected from a campaign and maintained in a CSV file.

Resolutions


1. How to migrate new set of data into the system using Data Workbench work center?

    

     A. Download template

       1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Import view.

       2. Select Import Data.

       3. Select the required object for which you want to import data.

       4. Select Download CSV file.

   

     B. Add data to template

    

     C. Import data into Cloud for Customer

       1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Import view.

       2. Select Import Data.

       3. Select the same object that you chose while downloading the template.

       4. Click Next.

       5. Upload the data file.
           The fields would be auto-mapped by the tool as you have selected

           an object template file.

       6. Review the mapping before proceeding to next import step.

       7. Select Import



2. How to update/modify the existing records in the system using Data Workbench work center?

    

     Step 1: Export data

      1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Export view.

      2. Select Export Data.

      3. Select the required object for which you want to export data.

      4. Click Next

      5. Select Export Data.



     Step 2: Add the values which needs to be modified/updated in the template


     Step 3

      1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Import view.

      2. Select Update Data.

      3. Select the same object that you chose while exporting data.

      4. Click Next.

      5. Upload the template, and select Import.



3. How to check the status of import/export in Data Workbench work center?


You can check the status of your import and export in the Data Workbench work center à Monitor View.

Here, you can check the progress/status/errors on the imported file, and download the exported file.



4. How to upload attachments using Data Workbench work center?


     Step 1

       1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Import Attachment view.

       2. Select the object for which you want to import attachments

       3. Select Download manifest file.


     Step 2: Fill in the template with the path where the attachments are kept

     and then copy the template to the same folder, and then zip the folder

     Note: Please make sure you use the name of the template as manifest.csv


     Step 3

      1. Go to Data Workbench work center, and select Import Attachment view.

      2. Select the same object that you chose while downloading the manifest file.

      3. Click Next.

      4. Upload the zip file.

      5. Select Import



5. What is the file size limit when we upload a zip file for attachments in Data Workbench work center?

The size of the zip file should not exceed more than 30 MB, and size of each attachment in it should not exceed 5MB.



6. How to re-use the file which has failed during the import?

You can download the file from Monitor view, and remove the first column Row ID and last column which contains Error, and then you can import the file again using Import view.



7. How should the date be filled in CSV file while importing?

The date format should be filled in YYYY-MM-DD format. Data Workbench doesn't support Hours and Minutes



8. How to delete files from Monitor View?

Files can't be deleted from Monitor view. System will only display files from the last three months on the Monitor view.



9. During Attachment upload, what value should be filled in the CSV file for the field TypeCode during?

For any standard attachment to be uploaded, fill the value as 10001 in the field TypeCode.



10. How to download the file which has value as 001 or 002 in any of the fields while exporting?

When you open the file with MS Excel, the leading zeroes will be truncated. So, you can open it in any standard text file to retain the leading zeroes.



11. How to export attachments using Data Workbench work center?

It is not possible to export attachments of any object using Data Workbench work center. You can only Import new attachments for an object using the Import View.



12. Is it possible to delete the mapping between Source and Target fields while importing the file?

Follow these steps to delete mapping between Source and Target fields:

     

       1. Select the link between the Source and Target fields.

       2. Right click and select Delete.

       OR

       1. Select the link between the Source and Target fields.

       2. Press Delete button on your keyboard.
