How to solve the problem occurring while trying to save variant after executing BW BEx Web Application.

Overview:

What steps need to be followed to solve the issue regarding not able to save variant after executing BW BEx Web Application.

This issue is caused because user variants are personalization dependent and personalization is not active for the users
who are creating the variant.


Steps to be followed in this regard:

It is not possible to save variant in the variable screen appearing after executing BW query or BW Web Template in the web side.

Sometimes, error message "Exception condition "X_MESSAGE" raised" occurs while trying to save variant.

The following steps need to be done for resolving this issue:

1. Go to transaction RS_PERS_ACTIVATE

2. Activate all the 3 checkboxes

   a) BEx History

   b) Variables Personalization

   c) WebReport Personalization

3. Click on button Execute

4. This will activate the personalization.

Now, it will be possible to save variant in the variable screen appearing after executing BW query or BW Web Template in the web side.
