How to Configure Java Naming and Directory Interface on the Server-Side

This technical brief discusses how to connect Java application servers to data sources using the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI). Specifically, it describes how to configure Apache Tomcat 4.1.x/5.0.x, BEA WebLogic 8.1, and IBM WebSphere 5, provides sample code demonstrating the execution of a simple query, and demonstrates how to connect to the JNDI data source using native Java. It does not discuss connecting to JNDI data sources using Crystal Reports. For information on this topic, refer to the section Finding More Information at the end of this document.
