Data Integrator - Change Data Capture with Database Triggers
Business decisions that cannot be obtained directly from source systems. Data warehouses achieve this objective by obtaining incremental snapshots of data from source systems. A data warehouse then consolidates, aggregates, calculates and stores this data as appropriate. One method of source-based change data capture is the use of date and time fields to compare source-based changed-data capture job runs. This technique makes use of a creation and/or modification timestamp on every row. You can compare rows using the time of the last update as a reference. This method is called timestamp-based Change Data Capture or CDC. This paper is based on BusinessObjects Data Integrator 6.5.
