Command "Save View" - Save Variable Values - Functionality Details

When runs a report  you will get an option to “Save View” of button

When chooses the “Save View” option, it prompted with the following option

As you only wants to save the view, and not the variables, they ensure that “save variable Value” is not selected.

Enter a description and OK the process.

The problem is, that the “Save as” saves the variable also (even though it is not checked).

This means that when to open the view later on.

They select “Open View”

Click OK

And when the saved view is displays it overwrites whatever are the current variables with the ones which were unintentionally saved initially.

Reason:
In Web Java Runtime, you execute a Template and saving a Query View using command SAVE_VIEW. By default, current variable values in Template are saved to Query View. You dont have any option to choose whether you want to save the variable values or not from Template to Query View.

You can set this parameter SAVE_VARIABLE_VALUES to any one of the following values in WAD to change the behaviour of variable values while saving a Query View..

  1. ON (By Default) / ON - This will save the variable values in Template to Query View.
  2. OFF - This will not save the current variable values from Template to Query View. When you execute this Query View, variable values will be empty.

  • So you need to set the OFF. his will not save the current variable values from Template to Query View. When you execute this Query View, variable values will be empty
