What are the impacts on the interoperability between different versions of SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and SAP NetWeaver PI in combination with SAP Business Suite 7?

The impact is independent of the SAP HANA database as such, though the use of the SAP HANA database for these SAP applications requires minimum releases as summarized in Business Suite and S/4HANA Roadmap and Release Information

SAP provides an Upgrade Dependency Analyzer in the SAP Service Portal which supports high-level planning for the upgrade scenarios.

What is the impact on 3rd party solutions?

Does this mean that in future, SAP Business Suite will only run on SAP HANA or only on SAP databases?

No, SAP Business Suite is, and will remain, database-agnostic. Staying true to the principles of “innovation without disruption and open choices to customers,” SAP gives customers a choice. We continue to support the existing databases a customer may have licensed from SAP for use with SAP Business Suite applications, and allow complete or partial licensing of SAP HANA.
