Migration to SAP NetWeaver BW on SAP HANA using DMO [Video]

This video describes end-to-end Migration of SAP NetWeaver BW system to SAP HANA. The source is a SAP NetWeaver BW7.00 on MaxDB (Dual Stack) which will be migrated to SAP HANA with BW Application Server Upgraded to NetWeaver 7.40


Below are few important steps of the process with [Timelines]:

0. End-to-End Procedure Overview [0.07 – 0.23]                                  

1. Homogenous System Copy [0.25 – 5.35 ]: Using the System Copy option in SWPM, the copy of  BW7.00 on MaxDB (Dual stack) is created. [VA2 is the source and the copied system is KA5]

> [2.32 – 4.52] : Target System Installation

> [5.00 – 5.35] : Post Copy Steps

2. Dual-Stack Split [ 5.40 – 8.22] : Using the Dual Stack Split (DSS) Option in SWPM, the Copied system is split. [KA5 is now ABAP only, JA6 is a separate JAVA System]


3. Database Migration Option (DMO) for BW on SAP HANA[8.25 - 20.23]:

Only the BW ABAP stack (KA5) is considered for the Migration to SAP HANA using the DMO in SUM.  Refer to SAP Note 1813548 - Database Migration Option (DMO) for Software Update Manager
