You can choose different Selection Modes: with the Single Selection Mode you always select one single item, with Rectangular or Lasso Selection you can select multiple items.
You can use the Shift Key in addition if you want to add the items to an existing selection or you can choose the Ctrl Key in addition if you want change the selection of the chosen items ( selected items get deselected and vice versa ).
The default selection mode is the single selection mode.
With a left mouse button click you can select an object while a previously selected object gets unselected.
You can switch to rectangular selection mode by pressing 'r'. The cursor changes and you can draw a rectangle with the left
mouse. Each object that lies within the rectangle is considered selected.
Another keystroke 'r' leaves the selection mode and returns to single selection mode.
You can switch to lasso selection mode by pressing 'a'. The cursor changes and you can draw a freestyle closed polygon with the left mouse. Each object that lies within the lasso is considered selected.
Another keystroke 'a' leaves the selection mode and returns to single selection mode. Alternatively you can switch to rectangular selection mode with 'r'.
You can zoom in and out by using the '+' and '-' buttons.
You can switch to a rectangular zoom mode by pressing 'z'. The cursor changes and you can draw a rectangle with the left
mouse. When you release the mouse button the application zooms into the specified rectangle. Another keystroke 'z' leaves the rectangular zoom mode.
You can move up, down, to the left or to the right by using the arrow buttons of the keyboard. In 3D-scenes you can further move forward (f) or backward (b) in view direction.
You can rotate by using the shift-button together with the right- or left- arrows ( ← and → ).
You can tilt the scene by using the shift-button together with the up- or down- arrows ( ↑ and ↓ ).
Move when zoomed inside an object
When your mouse pointer is inside an object and you want to move around with the left mouse you need to press Ctrl+Shift and then the left mouse button ( otherwise you would start a drag-and-drop operation )!
Navigation steps ( move, zoom, rotation and tilting ) are logged and can be retrieved for up to 10 steps.
The keystroke 's' is reserved for the backward navigation.
The keystroke 'd' is reserved for the forward navigation.
