Create Office Automation User

Creation of Office Automation User & Configure MS Word:

1. Login to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise as administrator. Select Start -> Control Panel.

2. Select Administrative Tools and double click to open.

3. Under Administrative Tools, select Computer Management and double click to open.

4. Under Computer Management, select Local Users and Groups.

5. Under Local Users and Groups, right click on the Users folder under. Select “New User”.

6. Enter the values for New User as shown below, then choose Create :

7. Under Local Users and Groups, open the Groups folder.

8. Under Groups folder, open the Administrators group.

9. Click “Add” in the Administrators Properties window.

10. In Selcet Users window, add OfficeAutomationUser.

11. Click OK.
12. Log off as administrator and log back on as OfficeAutomationUser.

13. Install Microsoft Office Professional Edition (Word only), version MS office word 2007 (12.0.6612.1000) SP3 MSO 12.0.6607.1000 or MS Office Word 2010 14.0.6129.5000, as follows. If a previous installation has been performed by a different user, it must be removed prior to this installation.

          A. After supplying the license key and accepting the license agreement, in the Type of Installation dialog box, choose Custom Installation, and then choose “Next”.

          B. In the Custom Setup dialog box, select Word and choose Advanced Customizations of Applications, and then choose Next.

          C. In the Advanced Customization dialog box, expand all nodes and make sure that Word is set up to run on your computer, especially the .NET Programmability Support feature, and then choose Next.

          D. In the Summary dialog box, choose Install.

          E. After the installation is complete, drill down into the installed components to verify that the software has been installed.

          F. In the Setup Completed dialog box, select the Check the Web for Updates and Additional Downloads checkbox and then choose Finish and install updates as needed.

         RECOMMENDATION: We recommend that you skip Microsoft Excel updates due to a known conflict with the contract generation service, as documented in SAP Note 1157746.

14. Launch Microsoft Word. Press Alt-F11.  Close Visual Basic. 

15. Start -> Run -> “DCOMCNFG”.

16. Go to Component Services-> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config -> Microsoft Office Word 97-2003 Document

Note: If you don’t find Microsoft Word Document please follow these steps:

        

           a. Start -> Run -> mmc -32.


          b.  File -> Add Remove Snap-in

          c. Select “Component Services" and Click Add. Then click OK.

          d. Go to “Component Services” -> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config .

 

          e. Under  DCOM Config , Select Microsoft Office Word 97-2003 Document


          f. Close console 1. In the dialog box, click No.


          g. Now repeat step 3 and you should be able to find “Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003”.

17. Right click on “Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003". In the dialog box, on the Security tab, under Launch and Activation Permissions, select Use Default.


18. On the Identity tab, select “This User” and enter the user OfficeAutomationUser and password, choose Apply, and then choose OK.


19. Go to Component Services ->Computers ->My computer


20. Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties. On the COM Security tab, under Access Permissions, choose Edit Default .


21. Choose Add and add the following user accounts. Ensure that local access and remote access are enabled for each of the users being added.
          a. INTERACTIVE
          b. Everyone
          c. Administrators
          d. OfficeAutomationUser
          e. NETWORK
          fNETWORK SERVICE

22. Choose OK.

23. Choose “Apply”.

24. On the COM Security tab, under Launch and Activation Permissions, choose Edit Default .

25. Perform step 21-23.

26. Choose OK.

27. Add the “Users” group and assign Read and Read & Execute permissions to this group in the 32-bit and  64-bit .NET installation directories:

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 and  C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727

28. Choose Start -> Run and enter “REGEDIT”.

29. Find and verify the key for Microsoft Word as follows: Go to Computer -> HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\WINWORD.EXE. The key should contain the following value: {00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}. If it does not, change it, and save the change.
