Is it possible to parallelize the Data Archiving Process (DAP) request in SAP NetWeaver BW?

Workaround Description - Example:

Let assume you want to archive data on a yearly basis moving data from BW to NLS based on time characteristics 0CALYEAR. In order to parallelize this archiving process you have to split the archiving request. To perform this split, you can either use an additional characteristic like company code (semantic partitioning), or several shorter time periods like calendar quarter or calendar month (Image 1).

This approach enables you to start the individual archiving requests in parallel. This can be done either manually from the Archiving Tab of the InfoProvider, or embedded in a process chain (Image 2).
The recommend approach is to use a process chain in which the parallel archiving requests run up to the verified status, followed by a single process step to delete the archived data from the InfoProvider.

1: DAP archiving setting based on 0CALYEAR and 0DIVISION

Using 3 parallel archiving requests, the system will use 3 concurrent batch processes. In addition there will be 3 different partitions on NLS server corresponding to the 3 divisions.

The individual settings to set up the different archiving variants, as well as the deletion step are shown in the following images.

5: Process Variant n (with division blank - any additional division will be managed by this variant)
