Offline Mobile Dashboards

Offline Mobile Dashboards

Introduction

Mobile dashboards can be viewed when the SAP BusinessObjects Mobile app is set to Work Offline, or when the mobile device’s wireless is disabled or unavailable.

The app saves the document and its data locally so the dashboard can be viewed offline. This mitigates network interruptions and minimizes communication costs.

Offline Dataset Number Elaboration

The Offline Dataset Number is the amount of stored query refresh requests. It does not indicate the number of rows in the dataset or the data file size.

For dashboards that include queries, there will always be one query refresh request for queries without parameters, and more than one query refresh request for queries with parameters. The amount of requests depends on the amount of combinations of parameter values.

The Offline Dataset Number sets the maximum number of query refresh requests.

§ Set the SDK Offline Storage

1.     Open the mobile device’s Settings

2.     Select the SAP BI app

3.     Tap “SDK Offline Storage” under Dashboards

4.     Set the “SDK Offline Storage”

SDK Offline Storage Elaboration

SDK Files include custom add-on components and connections, and are saved locally when downloading an offline Dashboard.

SDK Offile Storage sets the maximum amount of device storage used for saving SDK files.
