Configuring MobiLink Monitor and connect to SUP (2.x)


This technical document explains how to Configure and connect to the SUP server using
MobiLink Monitor with and without a certificate.

Required Software

1.            SUP 2.x.x or higher.
2.            SUP Administration Role.


This document assumes you have a working SUP environment.

Step - 1 Adding mlmon user to SUP Server:

a.    User needs to monitor the performance of the SUP server.


In order to monitor the replications process you need to add the mlmon user to the SUP
1.    Open a command prompt.
2.    CD to C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\SQLAnywhere12\BIN64.
3.    Run mluser -c "DSN=default-cdb;UID=dba;PWD=sql" -u mlmon -p mlmon.
4.    You should see the following screen below Figure1.

5.    CD to C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\SQLAnywhere12\BIN32.
6.    At the command line type mlmon.
7.    The GUI screen for logging in will popup.
8.    User: mlmon.
9.    Password: mlmon.
10.  Host is the name where the SUP is running.
11.  Protocol is HTTP.
12.  Port number is 2480 Unencrypted.
13.  Click the OK button.

To test connecting with a certificate you need to do the following.
  1. Change Protocol to HTTPS.
  2. Change Port to 2481 Encrypted.
  3. Trusted certificate file.
  4. Click on the Browse button.
  5. Go to C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\Repository\Certificate
  6. Select https_public_cert.crt.
  7. Click Open.

  1. Click OK to start monitoring.

This concludes the steps needed to setup the mlmon users and connect using HTTP or HTTPS.

Step2 – Monitoring:

User needs define the thread to monitor.


In order to do that, you need to have completed the setup in the first part of this article.
  1. Start MobiLink Monitor utility.
  2. Off the main menu select tools.
  3. Select Watch Manager.
  4. Add Failed.
  5. Add Active.
  6. Add Competed.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Go to Tools Menu Again.
  3. Select Options.
  4. Go to Table Tab.
  5. Make Visible or Hide Columns you want to view.

  1. Click OK.
  2. With MobiLink monitor running.
  3. Double click on the monitors chart.

  1. Select the Range Tab.
  2. Click on Calculate Button.
