Integrating Business Packages

The SAP NetWeaver Portal offers a state-of-the-art portal solution. However, to make a portal useful to all the people it seeks to serve, it must not only provide general portal capabilities, but also content designed specifically to serve users in various industries and business areas.

SAP provides such pre-assembled content bundled as business packages for completing business tasks. In essence, the business packages provide out-of-the-box portal applications that can be easily modified to suit a customer's needs.

Business Packages by SAP

Information regarding the most recent existing business packages (e.g. for ERP starting with SAP ERP 6.0) can be found here.

In general the business packages are downloadable and installable via SAP Solution Manager (SMP Login required). In exceptional cases the business packages can also be downloaded from the Service Marketplace (SMP Login required, "Support Packages and Patches- Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group - SAP Content - EP Content (Business Packages)")directly without SAP Solution Manager. For more information on how to install portal content, have a look on SMP at the respective Master Guide for Installation, e.g. Master Guide SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SMP Login required).

Business Packages by Other Vendors

The SAP Partner Directory features a wide range of business packages developed by partners, covering most industries and all areas of business.
