A Point of View on Business Case Justification for Service-Oriented Enterprise
A great deal has already been written about the "how" and the "where" of Services, mostly from technology vendors driven by the need to get their products into use. But very little has been written about the "why" - and if it has, it is also based on technology choices. Put simply, the technology argument for Services is based on cost reduction and flexibility - an appealing proposition for the CFO and the CIO with hard-pressed budgets. But what is the value of Services beyond cost reduction?
