Intercepting End User Jobs to Decrease System Workload
You receive alert notifications because of a too high CPU utilization in your payroll system. To find out the reason of the critical system state, you log on to the SAP NetWeaver Administrator where you find the corresponding alert. The analysis shows that this bottleneck seems to be caused by a too high volume background job activity. To solve this problem, you will intercept an end user job in order to decrease the workload in your scheduling landscape. Intercepting means that you take back the start conditions of less important end user jobs in order to run them later at times of less system load. This will free resources that you then can use for the run of a much more important job, in our example the monthly payroll run.
