Hello Gurus,

Our client does business for both domestic and export sales. We have seperate department through which the export sales happen.

What are pros and cons of having the different Sales organization for Export.

Thanks and Regards,

Pavan P.

Hello Pavan,

plz consider having different divisions?

Also, check it from a finance perspective...is accounting/ co-code different?

Hi,

Please know the thumb rule ie specific to Generic.

Sales organisation can be configured based on the 3 things

1. based on the Geographical area means North , south, east , west etc ..

or

2.based on the business say Domestic and Exports.

or

3. based on the product line ie divisions:

when we take sales organisation, from organistion level to sales information system we will have sales organisation.

so the report genearation is very easy.

So best to have a different sales organisations.

thanks

Dear Pavan

If you ask me as to how should we proceed, my preference would go for one sales organisation and two distribution channels.

This means, you will be having two sales areas as follows:

For Exports - 1000/10/00

For Domestic - 1000/20/00

By having one sales organization both for domestic and exports, it is enough if you just have the necessary IMG settings to one sales organization.

Even you can filter all standard reports through Distribution channel wise, if need be.

thanks

Hi,

It will be better if you have different sales organizations for Domestic and Export.

This will provide as void range of sales area, also provide better control over transactions and reports.

For e.g. limitation of sales order types for sales areas, default excise group and series groups for sales areas of domestic and export sales, etc...
