Scheduling agreement or quantity contract

Former Member

Hello everybody

The Customer gives a purchase order with a tentative monthly schedule for say 300 qty. attached to it.

And then what he does is he updates on ph how much quantity he needs on daily basis.

So my question is how to map this scenario in SAP?

Could this be fullfilled through scheduling agreements or should quantiy contracts be used?

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

the main difference between Scheduling Agreement and Contracts is sched.agreements are having the schedule lines..in ur scenario, if u want to deliver the materials daily, suppose 10 quantities for today and 10 quantities for tomorrow and so on,...then u can map it as sched.agreements..that means every day is a delivery date for u.

if u want to deliver 300 quantities in 1 month, irrespective of delivery dates, suppose today 100 items, after 1 week 30 items like that.. and want to complete the 300 quantities in 1 month, u can go for Contracts..

hope it helps..

Hello,

Thank you guys.

As the schedule are not pre - determined i think will have to go with quantity contracts.

The scenario goe like this,

As the purchase order comes initially with a schedule plan of how much quantity they might require for a particular month.

And the qty to be delivered per day is updated on daily basis.

It will be better if i go with Quantity Contracts.

Thanks again

hi,

as explained in the above posts scheduling agreement has pre-determined schedule line.

while quantity contract doesnt confirm the scedule line when we create it.

So as per your requirement, it seems that the quantity ordered daily is not confirmed, though

you are sure that 300qty will be delivered per month.

Hence quantity contract is the way to go for ur requirement.

Quantilty Contracts : Used when you want to Limit the Customer with the total amount of Goods to be supplied.

The release order would be created with reference to the quantlty contract.

How much ever can be delivered at a time depending on the release order created by the user.

Schedulling Agreement : Used when the company enters into a Contract with the Customer saying that fixed amount of goods will be delivered at the a particular time.

The quantity will be automatically delivered at scheduled time depending on the setting.

For your scenerio it should be shedulelling agreements as the Planning and the Production cycle will be taken into consideration.

The MRP will have the right time to deliver the product resulting in efferective use of the resources.

Hope it will be helpful to you.
