Is client specific transport routes (extended transport) must for CHARM configuration?
Can somebody provide step by step documentation for CHARM config on solution manger 4.0
I have seen it in the SAP e-learning ChaRM training that client specific transport routes are required.

In my experience, yes. Client specific transport routes are a requirement for ChaRM to work.

I am still not able to find if CHARM config requires client specific routes or independent.

You must configure the TMS in your ChaRM target TMS landscape with Extended Transport Control.
The Central Configuration tool of Change Request Management allows you to configure system-specific and project-specific settings.
