authentication problem with solman Diagnostics

Good day,

we have an problem with Solution Manager Diagnostics. It is installed on a linux x86 64 bit system (as are the monitored systems). The solution Manager runs SP15 patch 1 (we had the same problem on SP14 and SP15).

The Solution Manager Diagnostics system notice an system as soon as the agent on the monitored system is started and also removes the system from the list when we stop the agent. Thus it seems that the communication is working. However as soon as we try to perform the setup from the 'Monitored System Setup' (it does discover the server in this screen) then it just takes ages. As soon as we stop the agent we will see the following error message:

'Unexpected exception.(cause=com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.exception.P4BaseIOException Request timeout, reply message did not arrive.)'

When we check the default trace files in the /j2ee/cluster/server0/log directory on the solman diag then we see the message:

[EXCEPTION]

#1#com.sap.sup.admin.landscape.exception.RetrieveException: SMD agent not found for this host '[IHost: key=1137053747552179, name=130.144.58.124, fullQualifiedName=130.144.58.124, ip=130.144.58.124, path=N/A, pathName= , SmStatus=U, creation=Thu Jan 01 01:00:00 CET 1970]'

and also:

when we check the same default trace on the monitored system is shows:

Returning NULL

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://130.144.58.123:50000/@download@/BIN/services/p4/p4.jar?ticket=1c00000000000000004a00320045004...

and the jvm_SMDAgent.out in the SMD work directory shows:

Returning NULL

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://130.144.58.123:50000/@download@/BIN/services/p4/p4.jar?ticket=1c00000000000000004a00320045004...

I am really stuck here. I tried two monitored system but both of them produces the same error messages. I really do not know where to search for an solution anymore. PLEASE if someone knows something please help me?

Thanks In advance,

Nico van der Linden...

btw:

I also tried to connect to the link directly in the browser:

http://130.144.58.123:50000/@download@/BIN/services/p4/p4.jar

It then shows an logon screen called 'Jars protected download area'. But whatever user I provide It keeps saying access denied....

Hi Luis,

thanks for your reaction. SAP is already looking into the problem. For now, they also do not know where the problem comes from. I hope that they will provide us with an answer.

Kind regards,

Nico van der Linden...

Hello Nico,

The authorizations on SMD run over the UME, so have a look on the UME privileges for SAPSUPPORT user or connect into admin functionality by using j2ee_admin or Administrator user...

If does not work you can open an OSS message under component BC-JAS-ADM-CEN-AIN....

hth

Regards,

Luis
