What are the things that need to be done before creating quote and order

Hi guys

We have installed ECC and just for testing purpose we want to enter some basic data starting from creating couple of customers, department, quote and order.

Is there a simple way (steps) to follow.

The reason for asking this question is that we don't know where to start.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Ram

Dear Ram

As already suggested here, to create a customer, the pre requisite is that you should have maintained proper Partner Determination in IMG followed by assigning sales organization to company code, plant to company code, Distribution Channel to Sales organization, sales area to sales document type etc., Most importantly, to create a sale order, you should have maintained proper copy controls in VTLA (Sale order to Delivery), VTFL (Delivery to Billing), Sale Order to Billing (VTFA)

thanks

Hello Ram,

Before start creating orders first you should have basic organisation structure to go further. You need to have the Company code, Sales Organsiation, Distribution channel, Division etc. to proceed further. If you are working on IDES then you will get standard company codes like 1000etc. With that you have to create customer, material and then stock maintaince and maintain the pricing for that material.

Hope it helps

Hello,

If your organisational structrues are perfect, then check with MM and FI team for their opinion. If everything is right, then create customers, maintain pricing condition.

Try to create a sales order or quotation. Save it, check for any errors, rectify it, then proceed for delivery.

Follow simple process first, pick the delivery and do the PGI.

Create a billing document, and check it is posting correctly.

This is one process cycle. analyse for errors and modifications.
