MDM Server 5.5 Service Startup Error

Hi MDM Expert

We are getting below error while starting the MDM 5.5 SP6 Server services.The Problem has started from today when we rebooted the server

Below is the Error :

Windows could not start the MDM Server 5.5 on Local computer.if this non microsift service, contact the service vendor and refer to service specific error code - 5635582

==========================================

our build # is 5.5.60.67

can the problem be resolved by upgrading it to build 5.5.62.58?

Hi Deelip,

The best i can understand from this error is that you are trying to install MDM server on a local sytem which does not have an SQl server.

It could be possible that because of rebooting it has affected the underline Database connection on which the MDM is installed.

If you hvae been using a business content repository you can retrieve it again after fixing the problem.But for a new customized rep that you have created i am not sure whether it can be taken care of.

- Chcek the DB(SQL server) settings.

- There could also be a possibilty that the MDM server installations Vs is having a match issue with the Windows OS.(I am not sure of this)

Just for your info -- The Server was running fine for last 3 months the issue came up today.We were trying to connect through Console and not getting response, then we rebooted the server but MDM server services could not be started

We have installed MDM on Oracle 10g

Hi Deelip,

Did you try checking th MDM services through Services.msc

Try putting this in the run command on the system on which the server is installed and check to see if all the MDM services are started and if not restart them.

I able to resolve the issue now.It seems that the services can not be started manually

I am able to start the MDM Server through Console so when you start the MDM Server in console then this service shows as running at windows

i think some kind of problem with mdm exe file

i hope by resintalling or upgrading this will get resolved

what will happen to my repository which is already created?

Will it be deleted if i am going to upgrade it or reinstalling the MDM Server?

just take a backup of mds.ini placed

drive:\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Server

and replace it at the same location after upgrade or reintallation

i think you are not going to delete databse

No, i am not going to delete the database, also i have already backedup the complete Server Directory

Do i still need to replace the mds.ini file after upgrade even if i am not going to delete the database?

this file has all the repository information loke name DBuser and password
