Hi ,

I need to configure a transport system , First I need to set RFC destination.

I need to do a two system landscape. I need to set RFC destination for tis two systems only .

Is that I need to set a RFC destination(SM59 t-code) in DEV as

DEV-DEV (DEV IP address)

DEV-PRD (PRD IP address)

In PRD as follows

PRD-PRD (PRD IP address)

PRD-DEV (DEV IP address)

I know we have to set a path :

DEV-DEV

DEV-PRD

PRD-PRD

PRD-DEV

But where i need to set tis either in DEV or in PRD is my doubt.

Is that i need to login in 000 client for tis setup of destination .

If i m wrong please correct me please..

Regards,

Hari

The safest way is to follow SAP Help:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/44/b4a8197acc11d1899e0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

First you have to define which system in landscape will be Domain controller and then adjust transport routes.

Hopefully, TMS will create all RFC connections for you automatically...

Sorry ... this may sound stupid, but why? When you configure STMS, the RFC connections are created automatically via transaction STMS, so why are you doing it manually in SM59?

Hello Haren,

Not to worry. You are absolutely correct. You need to define RFC connections in both systems in client 000 with user ddic.

There are two types of RFC connections.

1. Trusted

2. Non-trusted.

The difference between them is, for Trusted, you no need to specify a user name and password when you define a RFC connection. However, in the other one, you need to specify user and password.

If you want to create a Trusted RFC connection, then read the following.

The source system will the Trusted system and the destination will be the Trusting system.

For example, from PRD to DEV you are creating a Trusted RFC connection, which doesn't require a usre name and password, the PRD will become Trusted system and DEV will become Trusting system.

Try performing the following steps to recreate the Trusted RFC connection between the system.

On the Trusting System

1.Create the Trusted RFC connection in sm59

a. RFC destination = <trustedSID>TRUSTED

b. Connection Type = 3

c. Description = SID Trusted System

d. Click save

e. Target host= <hostname of trusted system)

f. Enter System #

g. Click save

2. Create the Trusted System

a. smt1

b. Click create

c. Enter the name of the rfc connection created in step 1

d. Enter the client, userid, and password information

On the Trusted system

1. Create an RFC connection (sm59 create)

2. RFC Destination = <trustingSID>CLNT<trustingclient#> ex. CKDCLNT500

3. Connection type = 3

4. Description = <trustingSID> Client <trustingclient#>

5. Save

6. Enter Target Host and System Number information

7. Click Logon Security Tab

8. Trusted system= yes

9. Enter language and client information

10. Check the current user option

11. Save

Hope it is helpful

Cheers,

Satish
