Hi ,

As an ABAPer , I am finding it very difficult to find the difference between the billing and invoice.

If both are different, then how these documents are configured.

thanks

Devi Reddy

Hi,

No difference between invoice and billing document.

But If we want to inform the payable to the customer we use the terminalogy invoice.

Example Credit meomo, debit memo. etc ...

As there is no difference , both have the same document types.

thanks

In SAP, an invoice is a document that a vendor sends to a customer to request payment for goods or services that have been delivered or performed. It typically includes details such as the date the goods or services were provided, the quantity and description of the items, the price of each item, and the total amount due.

A billing document is a document that a company creates to request payment from a customer for goods or services that have been provided. It can be based on an invoice, a delivery note, or other document and includes the same information as an invoice. However, the billing document is created within the company's SAP system, while an invoice is typically created by the vendor and sent to the customer. If you want get more details on . Invoice means...it gives specific document type...like Order or Delivery or Proforma...Etc..

Hi

Any one of the below activities is called Billing. One among them is Invoice creation..

Invoice, Credit memo, Debit memo, Credit for Returns etc., etc.,

All the activities can be called Billing but all of them are not called Invoicing.

Thanks,

Ravi

Dear Devi Reddy

Both are same. If at all we want to differentiate, we can call F5 and F8 document types as proforma invoices where there is no accounting impact, and we are not calling as billing documents. So in that way, we can treat commercial invoice as billing document.

thanks
