Hi Reddy,
Can any one please explain how materail master vendor mater are uploaded into MDM like by using IDOCS or what?
1) Firstly you will have to extrcat the look-up table data from R3 using MDMGX transaction-
Please follow this link to know about the same:
How to Configure Master Data Management Reference Data Extraction -
2) For loading the main Table Data into MDM, kindly follow the link below, which will guide you to the config/prcoess that will be required for the data to be uploaded from R3 into MDM.
You will have to extract the data from R3 in the form of IDOCS and then using XI, you will have to convert them into XML format as MDM understands that.
2.2) For the process of Data from MDM back to R3, kindly refer this link below:
2.3) For general info about this scenario, kindly refer this link below:
Please follow these links for additional info-
1) SAP Network Blog: XI Configuration for MDM Integration - Sample Scenario-
2) The below given blog can be used to understand the XI config done when data is sent back from MDM via XI to R3.
MDM->XI->R3
3) MDM 5.5 data distribution using SAP XI -
You can go through the above links to know about the process of importing master data in general from R3 to MDM.
In terms of Material, there is MATMAS05 Idoc which you will have to extract from the R3 and then through XI get it in the form of XML file, which will store the Material Master Data.
Once you get the file, you can easily import it in MDM using the MDM import Manager.
Similarly, taking the IDOC for Vendor Master, you can import the Vendor data into MDM
For knowing the names of the IDOCs used in master data, kindly follow the link below:
Hope it helps.

Olá, bom dia!
Caros colegas, me deparo com o seguinte cenário:
Os códigos com baixas movimentações no MDM retornam para o R3 para não poluir e reduzir a performance do programa. mas ao serem solicitados retornam novamente para o MDM esse processo se torna um ciclo vicioso.
Queria saber se existe uma funcionalidade para deixar o Código no MDM mas oculto de forma que não interfira na perfomance.

Hi Reddy,
As mentioned in my earlier posts too you have to use
MDMGX:For the lookup extraction
When you use this transcations and follow as per that link which i gave you.You will be bale to extract the lookup values in an XML file output file nad save it even on your desktop if you want to import manually or the inbound ready folder if you wnat automatic importing
So for each lookup table say Material Type you will have 1 XML file with all the legal Material type values.
You can then use the MDM import manger and select this XML file as the source and then in the IM selct the source table as the Lookuptable as in the source file and the destination table as the MDM rep lookup table
Perform the mapping and tehn you will get all the legal values uploaded in your MDM rep.
MDM_CLNT_EXTR:
When you use this extraction program to extract the main table data.The data is extracted in the Idoc form.
So this Idoc has to be then posted to XI to get it converted to XML and agin you can repeat the above fashion to import teh XML into MDM.
Follow the below links for the configurations;
Hope It Helped,
Thanks & Regards
