Hi Reddy,

If you want to transfer repository from one Server to another. You can used Archive command which will craete .a2a file and then you need to UnArchive this file on the Destination Server. Once UnArchive operation is successful you will get the repository on the destination MDM Server.

Procedure

For Archiving

Console -> Select Repository -> Archive Repository.

{MDM Installation Directory} \ Server \ Archives \

Copy the a2a file from the above location and paste it into the same path of Destination Server.

For UnArchiving

Console -> Server -> UnArchive Repository

select the a2a name

Hi Reddy,

Above Post gives the procedure to get the same repository on another server.

MDM Syndicator is a tool that sends data stored in the repository out from MDM.

You can access the MDM Repository from Portal. For this you need to deploy the SCAs file on portal server. There is no link between MDM Syndicator and Portal.

Please refer the below guide for MDM and Portal

If you are transporting repository using the above procedure then you will get each and everything including Syndication Maps.

Also if you want only Syndication map then you can save the maps locally and later you can import them. For this Open the Syndicator, perform the mapping according to your needs, Save the map and Export it on the local drive.

Whenever you want to use that map in some another repository Open the Syndicator and choose option Import Map and select the map which was exported earlier.

In this way you will get the Syndication map in your new repository.

Above is the way of transporting maps only.

Hi Reddy,

ABAP APIs:

They are basically used when you want to access any ABAP based sytem fnctionality through MDM.

Like for eg:If you wnat to generate a Classic report on the Records Cretaed/Modified?deleted etc in MDM.

In MDM as such we do not a feature to generate a report so we can use ABAP apis to connect to the MDM sytem and then Extract the Masrer data frm MDm and generate report in ABAP in the R/3 sytems.

ABAP APIs is a way to connect to the MDM sytems through an ABAP sytems in short.and since it is coding based unlike MDM amny more functionlaities can be included to make it more flexible and easy.

JAVA APIs :On the other end are used to connect to Java based sytems for more or less the same reason.

Eg:EP is a JAVA based sytem so if you want to connect your MDM sytem to EP and customize it in your way for example some dynamic search or Workflow governace or buffer mechanism through Portal in MDM then you will have to use Java APIs for it.

You can refer to links from above posts.

Hope it cleared your question.

If so Kindly mark it as answered.

Thanks
