Hi Everybody,
I have a few questions on XI, I am new to XI
1)what is PRODUCT?why we wil create PRODUCT?use of product?
2)what is technical system and business system?diference between the two?use of tech system and bus system?
3)for a product y we are assigning s/w component,tech. system,business system?
4)Will the XI consultant work on SLD?like creating products,s/w components..etc?
5)what type mapping will be used for HTTP to RFC scenario and HTTP to FILE scenario?
6)In Real Time how many interfaces can be made in an XI project?
7)Like Debugging technique in ABAP is there any technique to find out the error in XI?
8)At which conditions xslt-mapping,java mapping,abap mapping and message mapping will be used?
9)If the business systems are not visible in ID what we have to do?
10)y the business systems are not visible in ID some times,whats the reason?
11)In real time how long will be the XI projects?
12)What kind of problem generally an XI consultant face in Real time?

A)Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server.
Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within PI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.

Hi,
Alerts are used for monitoring in XI.
It will send alert messages to different people depending on the alert category.
Alert messages can be sent via mail or SMS.

If no one has to react , itu2019s just a notification.
If the immediate reaction is not necessary, itu2019s awork item.
Example: the single processing of an alert takes about 30 minutes and you receive 10 alerts within 1 hour. Hence, you need 5 hours to process these alerts

Thanks for the info....
I have one more query....regarding FILE TO RFC SCENARIO WITH OUT USING BPM.
BOTH SOURCE AND RECEIVER ADAPTERS ARE WORKING BUT DATA IS NOT PLACING IN THE R/3 SYSTEM THAT IS SE11 TABLE.
MY RFC IS WORKING PROPERLY.
THROUGH RFC DATA IS PLACING IN R/3 SYSTEM.BUT WHEN I EXECUTED THE SCENARIO IN SE11 TABLE AN EMPTY LIST OR RECORD IS PLACING INSTEAD OF MY SOURCE RECORD.
MY RFC DETAILS: ZRFC,IN TABLES TAB:IT_TAB LIKE ZPRODUCT(IS SE11 TABLE)
IN SOURCE CODE TAB:INSERT ZPRODUCT FROM IT_TAB.
I AM THINKING THE ERROR MAY BE IN MESAGE MAPPING.
DATA TYPE FORMAT IS SUBNODE, ELEMENTS

Hi,
Check your receiver agreement, whether you have provided the receiver channel as RFC or not. It shd be the RFC receiver channel name which you configured.
Also check whether you have done the configuration for both Request and Response in the Interface mapping.
Also, Dont extend you query in the same forum try to create a new forum for each query.
