Dictionary Development in Sales Order

We are working on a Wholesale store retail implementation. The client's requirement is that they should get a pop up showing the Items & Item codes, on entering a part of the material description in the Sales Order. Currently ECC 6.0 supports such feature in PO (me21n), but not in SO.

If somebody had come across such scenarios and solved, please give your valuable input to solve this.

Explore the feature Material determination for standard SD as well as Cust-Material info. It'll give you the pop-up you want on the SO screen. Probably you could post in the SD forum.

Use strategy B( show selection screen) in Material determination. This selection will be your pop-up.

We've used it with Customer_material info since it was description based.

Another idea would be to use the material number input conversion exit which can be used to convert the inputted material (article) number into the real material number. You would have to code some restrictions but could say if transaction code VA01, it brings a popup to display article numbers that might fit.

Standard alternative obviously is to just use F4 and search the article by article text from there
