Hi All,
I am trying to install ECC6.0 on RedHat 4 EL. I have followed the installation guide from SAP and did proper prequisites.Following are the software components I am using:
1. mYSAP ERP 2005 (ECC6.0) ---32 bit
2. Oracle 10g
3. Java2 SDK 1.4.2_09
Installation is going smooth untill step 9th. In step 10th SAP installer is throwing the following error:
ERROR 2008-08-05 06:49:17
CJS-00030 Assertion failed: lsnrctl: Parameter dbHome has to be a valid ORACLE_HOME.
ERROR 2008-08-05 06:49:17

StartListener was executed with status ERROR .
I believe that environmental variable ORACLE_HOME is not set as per the log. However, when I am setting this variable in the following way:
shell>export ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/stage/102_32
and running the SAP Installer again, it is throwing the same error as shown above.
NOTE: when I export the ORACLE_HOME variable:
shell>export $ORAVLE_HOME
system says:
'ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/stage/102_32' not a correct identifier
Kindly help asap. If possible kindly guide me step-by-step.
Thanks and Regards,
Faisal

By default the user are created using "csh", not bash.
Aside from that, the path you gave is wrong, that is the installation path (staging area) and not the Oracle home.
Did you install the database using the capital RUNINSTALLER with user ora<SID>?

hi faisal,
if you are using bash shell then
export ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/<SID>/102_32
if it is csh
setenv ORACLE_HOME /oracle/<SID>102_32
