HI All, getting error while installing ecc5.0

HI All,

I am getting the following error while installing ecc5.0

FRF-00007 unable to open RFC connection .

FRF-00063 RFC logon failed with message : Failed : connect to sap Gateway failed connect_fm GWHOST = ecc6,GWSERV=sapgv04,ASHOST=ecc6,SYSNR=04

pls provide me the solutiong for this and if not possible how to skip this step and proceed with other steps.

pls provide me ASAP

Bharat,

Sounds like the gateway did not start correctly. Please troubleshoot as to why the gateway has failed.

1) In the work directory, review the dev_rd tracefile.

2) Check the services file on the machine to ensure that the port 3304 is not already in use by another service. Possibly, the entry for the gateway is not in the services file either. (look for a service entry like sapgw04 3304)

You cannot skip this step and have a clean installation. You are at the point of the installation where specific post installation jobs and checks need to be run.

After you've corrected this issue, you'll need to stop and start SAP (just the SAP system 'stopsap R3') to get the gateway operational again. After the gateway is running, you should be able to restart SAPINST and finish the job.
