Dear all

How to configure Multi level packaging.

Ex: Polythene Bag is used to pack Chemical, Again Drum or Carton Box is used to pack all the polythene bag.

Hi,

To define Packing you should follow the below mentioned SAP Menu path.

1. Define Number Ranges for Handling Units by going to IMG-->Logistics Execution >Shipping>Packing-->Define Number Ranges for Handling Units

2. Packing Control by Item Category

3. Define Packaging material Types

4. Define Material Group for Packaging Materials

5. Define Allowed Packaging Materials

6. Define Packing Instructions

Transaction code POP1

SAP Menu R/3 Easy Access>Logistics>Central Functions>Handling Unit Management>Master Data>Packing Instructions>Create

7. Define Packing Instructions Determination Records

Transaction code POF1

SAP Menu R/3 Easy Access>Logistics>Central Functions>Handling Unit Management>Master Data>Packing Instruction Determination Records>Create.

here u assign packing instruction of bag to carton box.then assign packing instruction of carton box to pallet,etc...

if u want automatic packing activate it in delivery item category by using T-code 0VLP..activate automatic packing in delivery document type using T-code OVLK..

Dear Sandeep,

You can get through packing related configuration settings and assign those settings in the Material master data.

Please fallow these steps

-->First you create material master data for the packaging material Polythene Bag ,Drum or Carton Box with VERP material type.

Now you go to IMG then define packing related settings for the packaging material.Menu path is

SPRO>IMG>Logistics execution>Shipping>Packing

-->Define Packaging Material Types as ZPB Polythene Bag ,ZDRMDrum or ZCBX -- Carton Box.

-->Define Material Group for Packaging Materials as ZPB Polythene Bag ,ZDRMDrum or ZCBX -- Carton Box.

-->Define Allowed Packaging Materials

ZPB Polythene Bag <--> ZPB --Polythene Bag

ZDRM--Drum or ZCBX -- Carton Box <> ZDRMDrum or ZCBX -- Carton Box.

Now you assign Material Group for Packaging Materials in the material master data Basic Data 1 view.

In Chemical material master data assign Polythene Bag material group

In Polythene Bag material master data assign Drum or Carton Box material group.

Noe you can able to pack as per your requirement in the delivery document.
