printing problem while on VPN.

Hi Gurus,

I use VPN to access SAP servers in EUROPE and i work from INDIA.. While i am on VPN ,i am unable to print to the local printer. Do i need to make any settings to my desktop so that i can print to the local printer.

Please help me in resolving the issue.

Hi,

First add a defualt printer to your system locally.

Then , add the printer into your VPN session.

The below steps have to be done by the administrator.

Logon to you SAP system & run the tcode SPAD.

SPAD>full administration>output device-->create.

O/p device name:- for eg:-ZLOCAL

Shortname:-LOCL

Device type:-SAPWIN REL 4.x/......

Device Class:- standard.

Spool server:- Use the F4 help.

Attributes:-Front end printing.

Host priner:- _default.

Save it & trigger a prinout.Make sure you chosse the option "printout immediately" so that you get the o/p immdtly.

Can you please explain how to do that so that i can go ahead and do the rest of the steps u have specified.

Hi,

The device type should be SWIN in case of front end printing.
