you can schedule the series of jobs using process chains in RSPC transaction. you have a start process and the sequence of background jobs and you can even schedule the process chains immediately, periodically and as an even as well. using process chains you can even monitor the activities and set alerts

Hi,

Activities and Jobs are generally used for Background Processing of Demand Planning.

Activity : You have the choice of defining Demand Planning functions, in an Activity, which are Forecasts, Macros, Release Profiles and Transfer Profiles. In an Activity, you can also put these functions in a sequential manner. These activities are defined on Planning Book & Data View level.

T. Code: /SAPAPO/MC8T - Define Activities for Mass Processing

Jobs: You create a Job to run defined Activities in the background. In Jobs, you can restrict, the background run for selection IDs and/or for at which aggregation level.

T. Code: /SAPAPO/MC8D - Create Demand Planning in the Background

After creating a Job, you schedule it in the Background, for instance, you have to execute the DP functions, which you have defined in Activity, immediately or on certain Date/Time and some more options.

T. Code: /SAPAPO/MC8G - Schedule Demand Planning in the Background

These Jobs can be monitored using T. Code: SM37 - Job Overview of Demand Planning in the Background

This process is generaly used as Mass Processing of Interactive Demand Planning functions.

These Jobs can be used as a part of Process Chain as well by creating the Variant of the Program.

Program Name is : /SAPAPO/TS_BATCH_RUN - Run planning job in the background
