Quality Certificate Profile:alternative converitable UOM for Non SI units

Dear All,

I have a requirement from the client where I need to maintain the alternative UOM as below:

1. Micron to Guage with convertiable factor 1 Micron = 4 guage

2. Kg/cm2 = PSI (Pounds per sq inch) with cov factor 1 Kg/cm2 = 14.29 PSI.

As I understood from SAP document we can maintain alternative UOM for SI units only.

Please anyone guide how can I fulfill this requirement.

Create a second characteristic that is a calculated characteristic. I.e record in microns. Have the calculated charac be a calculated characteristic that calculates the Guage.

Report out the Guage characteristic on the COA.

Dear Uday,

You can set the formula for the calculated characteristic as it convert the Micron result in to the gauge automatically,

By the way.. you could also use variant config to do this calculation if your batch managed with batch characteristics and you don't want to set up a calculated characteristic in the inspection plans.

For this guage, I think it is not available in SAP STD, so create it in "no dimension' in CUNI, and then I think it will allow to maintain conversion factor 1 Micron = 4 guage.

I have maintained the Guage UOM in CUNI but unable to maintain conversion factor as it is grayed out fields.

I meant, to try to maintain the conversion factor at material master.
