we have ecc6.0 .

We have installed abap application server Alone .

can we configure solution manager without java application server?

what are the pre requisites to configure service desk & change management in solution manager ?

Anand: Yes almost all scenarios like service Desk, Change Mngt, implementation is independant on Java Instance.... SMD ( Solman Diagnostic is based on Java Instance)....

Anand: Solman up and running with the latest service pack level is recommended ...and follow the nodes in the IMG path for the respective scenarios..

can i also configure "solution landscape directory" without java application .

why i ask this is in everywhere they have mentioned 'sld' as the netwever component . .

Netweaver = Netweaver application stack - this includes ABAP and Java.

SLD is a component developed on top of Java so you need a Java engine to run it. If you installed SolMan 4.0 you have a Java instance already.

in our landscape in all Development , quality and production servers we have installed only abap application server .

is that sounds in a way that if we have solution manager then we have java instance . am i correct ?
