regarding shipping conditions

Hi Friends,

we are specifying shipping condition at the time of creation of customer(XD01) and in the definition of sales document type(VOV8)

but when we are creating sales order system takes shipping condition from the definition of sales document type(VOV8)

then wht is the use of maintaing shipping condition at customer level

Dear Venkata,

The Priority for capturing Shipping Condition is as below:

1. Sales Order Type

2. Customer Master Data.

Hence the Shipping Condition is captured from Sales Order Type, as it is maintained in Sales Order Type. If it would be blank in Sales Order Type, it would pick from Customer Master Data.

since shipping condition plays a vital role in determining shipping point, so u have to maintain based on ur requirement.

hi,

shipping condition in a sales document triggers first from document type.

if there is no shipping condition then it will trigger from CMR.

If u have lot of customer & their shipping conditions are different then u can maintain it in CMR level.

in that case u should not maintain it at document level

but in case of rush order or cash sale it is advisable to maintain in document level only for the reason it was preplanned to send the material to our customer.

based on ur requirement u can configure

Hi

The shipping conditions specified in the CMR will be defaulted first and then will be replaced by the Shipping conditions specified in the Sales document type. Shipping conditions are normally not maintained for all the document types. It is maintained for documents used for Cash Sales and Rush Orders and for other document types it is not maintained. The shipping conditions are very important for document processing and without which the Shipping point will not be determined. Hence it is necessary to maintain the value in CMR .

hi,

shipping conditions from VOV8 has priority over shippiing conditions from CMR.

So if shipping conditions is not maintained in VOV8, it will take from CMR.
