Hi
Our ERP (Production) system is our Master CUA. the child system is BW (Production)
We maintain Licence data for users through role inheritance rather than using SU01 or USMM.
We have created - for this purpose - a custom table that includes all our roles. Each of them is assigned to a licence category - beside a Portal Group.
At the end of each month we run a licence population program that will assign the category to our users. The highest category will count for costing purpose
This table also includes BW roles which are physicially not in ERP but they are in BW. What happens though is that the users will be classified in ERP only and not in BW.
A few weeks ago I had to run the SAP Audit using LAW and as a result when I was measuring BW a lot of users were unclassified and therefore SAP put by default Licence 52 which is higher that what we normally use in that system (54)
What do I have to do to ensure that the classification gets done in BW when I run the population program?
Have the same program in BW or run something else?
Hopefully I have explained the situation, if not please let me know
Thanks
Nadia

Hi Nadia,
I am surprised, that classifiaction through role assignements works already.... my last information was, that it does not work yet....

Hi Bernard
Thanks for your input. The classification works fine in ERP, the problem is only for certain users in BW (linked through CUA), so very strange,,,
SAP Licence Auditors are aware of the fact that we use this method and never mentioned that it doesn't work out
Have you got any other information saying that this option is not working? Thanks

Hi Nadia,
sorry for confusion. I found out now that the functionality is available now with the appropriate supportpackage (note #1086473)....
Do you have the SP-level /correction of note #1103326 already?
