Hi Sreedhar Kalluri ,

Console is one of the four GUI SAP MDM uses for manging master data.

In real time case this console Gui will not be accessible to all users As this is like the administration tool for MDM.

Console is the first step tool to use whne your are using MDM as before using any Tool administartion settings needs to be done, which is done through Console in this case.

Some of the administration work done are

- Creation of Roles and Users for Security purposes.

- Creation of Remote sytems and ports which will determine the Source sytems your are integrating with.

- Creation and uploading of XML schema which are used in importing a source file

- Settings to run the sMDM services as Automatic or manual.

- Mainly creatring the repository by building Tables and Fields

Kindly go through the below links which will help you design a good repository model.

Hi sreedhar,

MDM console is a one of the 4 GUI's of MDM which allows you to administer and monitor the MDM Server. It also allows you to create and maintain the structure of MDM repositories as well as to control access to them. Administrative tasks such as Role Definition, User Definitions, Access Control etc are maintained here.

Steps to create Reository,

1) Mount the server.

2) Right click on the server and select Create Repository.

3) Enter the DBMS details and press next.then enter Repositroy name and port to be used.

4) Repository gets created with Product table in it which is nothing but ur main table.

5) Create fields in Main table(product Table) as per requirement.

6) Select data type as per requirement ,if u want LookUp table then select amin table field for that subtable as LookUp Flat.Subtable gets created.

Refer to https://help.sap.com for further details in Console.

Hi sreedhar,

I am interested to learn SAP-MDM.

what is console in SAP-MDM and how to create the tables (main tables, sub tables, object table, special table, system tables) in that repository.

In addition to link given below, I would like to add that Console is the component which is basically used for repository design, users and roles creation and maintaining remote system and ports. It is the administrative component of MDM which can basically control the access, authoizations and the changes made in Console gets reflected in all the other components of MDM.

Any table or field you want to create in a repository, first of all the repository should be in Un-loaded State. Then only you can make any changes in MDM.

You need to select a table and right click on it.-> Add Field

After this, you will get the property pane of the field which you can make cusotmizations to the defualt values and setting.

Similarly you can select the repository and in the pane you can right click and add the table.

Hope this info helps.
