unable to export long report to excel

hi all ,

we are trying to export the output of the report to a excel sheet . but we are unable to do that .

Office version : 2007

GUI version : 710

the output is having around 50000 rows

Dear Shalini,

Excel sheet has a limit of 65536 rows.So, may be you are exceeding that limit.

If that do not work ask your BASIS guy to download SAP GUI latest patch from service market place and upload it.

After that restart the user system.

This will surely fix your problem.

PS: But dont forget excel limit is 65536 rows.

one small doubt is this limitation in count is only for excel 2007 or such limitations exist for 2003 too

Dea Shalini,

This you can check.Open any excel sheet and press ctrl + down(i.e downward arrow key) or just press page down key and wait till you reach the last line to get the number of rows.This will take 1 minute.

we are using

we are trying to export aroung 150000 records to excel 2007 .

But only 65000 rows is getting exported to excel .

have any of you encounterd this issue ?

if so please guide through

Dear Shalini,

I50000 record is too big to export in excel sheet.Even we encounter this and then came to the conclusion that we cannot download more that the maximum limit i.e 65536.

so is that not possible at all to export more than 65000 records to excel ?

if so than how to proceed to export 1 lakh record ?

Dear Shalini,

Please close this thread as it is over extending.Know any1 can get very eager but there is no way by which you export such a long record .There is only one way which is you have have to do in breakups and not much we can do.

We does the same way and evey1 does it too the same way.Still you get something let me know.

i got this issue solved by installing ,

sap gui version : 710

Patch level : 9

now our upload to excel is success .

Hi Susin,

When you said you got it solved, meaning you can download more than 65K row records?

I was using 710 patch 15 with error "List object is too large to be exported" and as such upgraded to 720 patch 6 (latest) but still encounter the same error.

Any advice?

p/s: Excel 2007 and 2010 are having maximum row limit of 1 million and yet my total rows to be exported is around 150k only.

So I believe this is SAP limitation rather than Excel limitation.
