Simulation of RFID Reader (SM59)

Former Member

Hi,

the configuration guide says the following:

To enable the simulation of an RFID device controller for testing, you can define the

following HTTP RFC connection in addition:

Field Name Field Value

RFC Destination AIN_DC_ECHO_TEST

Type G (HTTP Connection to Ext. Server)

Target Host <Server of your SAP AII system>

Service No. <Port of your SAP AII system>

Prefix /sap/scm/ain_echo_test

I did it exactly this way, but get the error message when I try to test the connection:

ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED

Did I forget to configure sth.?

Hi Willy,

Are you trying the PML simulation? Which direction? Device -> AII or AII -> Device?

I'm asking you such a question because I had the same issue when doing some simulation to enter observations from Device Controller to AII.

The solution (after a nice debugging session) was that he tries to use a RFC destination call AIN.

So, if you're using PML and trying to simulate observations from DC to AII, you have to create a RFC destination called AIN of type H with path prefix /sap/scm/AIN and, of course, the target host being your own AII.

Hope it helps,

I want to get a msg in my AII from the reader.

I configured the following two connections; #

Type G

AIN_ECHO_TEST with prefix /sap/scm/ain_echo_test

If I selected "no login" or "with login" and enter the data, it does not change a thing.

Do I have to enter sth in these proxy, host settings?

Type H

AIN with prefix /sap/scm/ain

Same error as above.

As the destination machine I have in both cases the system I am connected to.

What do I have to configure? Can you give me all the field values you entered? Did I forget sth.?

If I do connection test I still get my error ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED.

Hi Willy,

Although I don't have access to the customers AII right now, I remember to have written the last part of the path in capital (the /AIN).

Nevertheless, next week I can send you a couple of snapshots with my configuration.

see you,

David R.

Hi Willy,

the rfc-destination refers to a service which is provided by AII.

You have to make sure that this service is active. To do this open tx sicf and navigate to service default_host->sap->scm->ain_echo test.

When this service is displayed in "light grey" the service is inactive. Higlight the service node and use the context menue (right mouse button) to activate this service.

Best regards

Hi and thx for your reply.

The service is in black color so it seems to be activated already.

Service in sicf

a. make sure services are active.

b. Test the service (context menue) Result for ain_echo_test should be http ok. Result for ain service should be u201Cno payloadu201D

c. Make sure the external alias for the service is configured.

d.) check rfc destination (sm59)

service no is normaly 500<system number>.

I may sent you som screenshot to show the configuration if you sent me your email.

Best regards

Michael
