Hello,
The division is termed as the product or product line. Item division means the division which is maintined in the item... the material master.
sales org dist channel and item division means the business are will be determined from the Sales Org + distribution channel + division from material master. (system will not consider the division from the sales area).

Hi,
For example- S.org ABCD,Dist channel-01 and Division- 01,02 etc..
Plant -1000 and customer no is 10000.
Customer sales area is ABCD0101 and Material is created for both division-01 & 02.
When you create sales order, you have sales are(S.orgDist channelDiv) of the customer. In this case Business area is determined based on following rules.
1)Business Area determination on Plant and Item division(01 or 02)-
Delivering plant(1000) from Sales order and Division of Item.
2) Business are determination from Sales area(S.org+dist.channel +Div) of customer.
for example- S.org- ABCD,Dist channel- 01 and Division -01.
In this case Division of the material entered is also 01.
3) Business area determination from sales organization,
distribution channel and item division
In this case S.org-ABCD,Dist channel-01 and item Division -02.,
In last case Customer division is different than Material(Item) division -02.This is quite useful when client sells multi-division products and to all customers.
Thanks,

Hi Rumanathan,
We are mixing 2 things here.Lets take one at a time.
Division is like a product group say in case of Automobile industry you can have Car,Trucks ets categorized under Division.
Item Devision is something that is specific to a sales document type and you will never find it in any master data as Division (which we can get in Material master). So, item devision is a checkbox field in a sales document type (VOV8) which if checked will indicate that the division cames from the material master and if ticked off will indicate that it comes from the sales order header.

Hi,
item Div if its checked the division is applicable from the material master record else the header divsion is applied across the line items of the sales order.
check div tells how the system should react incase there is diff between header and item level divions when entering line items.

Hi,
Item division : the system proposes the division from the material master record of the item. If you leave the field blank, the division in the document header also counts for all items.
Division : Division means a group of products.
say example we have a agents who sells automobiles.
they are different kind of automobiles like 2 stroke, 4 storke and mopeds.
if the agents want to sells on the 4 strokes , so from the 4 stroke we may have many materials like hero honda passion, hero honda splender, tvs apache, bajaj pulsar. these are the materails belongs to 4 stroke.
so the company give the license of the division they sell but not on the material.
Thanks,
Raja
